Categories and Divisions

  • Teams will compete against other teams of similar school size in each category. However, if the number of teams performing in each category are too small, the teams may be combined to compete against each other.

  • Varsity teams and Junior Varsity teams will be separated into two groups and there will be no crossover regardless of category size. Each team may perform up to 4 routines in hip hop, kick, lyrical, mix, pom pon, precision jazz, and prop.

  • All routines have a minimum of one 1 minute 30 seconds and a maximum of 2 minutes 15 seconds to comply with state. This time limit does not include entrance and exit onto the floor as this will not be judged.

  • For the team competition, trophies will be awarded in each category. The number of trophies will be determined by the number of teams entered in each group (1st, 2nd, 3rd etc).
